The final World Cup competitions of the 2018/2019 winter season will be also the last competitions in Robert Kranjec’s ski jumping career. The Slovenian athlete has decided to end his career at his home hill.
It wasn’t an easy season for Robert Kranjec who did not take part in any World Cup competition. By now we know that finals in Planica will also be the last start in his career. Kranjec plans to make the last jump on Saturday – as a member of the team or in between the rounds.
Robert Kranjec is known to be a ski flying specialist. In Vikersund in 2012 he became the Ski Flying World Champion. He is also the winner of two Cystal Globes for the overall Ski Flying World Cup in 2009/2010 and 2011/2012 .
The 2012/2013 World Cup season was the best in his career. He finished on the sixth place in the overall ranking. He is also the winner of eight World Cup competitions. He has a bronze medal from the Olympics in Salt Lake City (team) and another one from the World Championships in Oslo (team).
