Rasnov hosted the Ladies World Cup this weekend with two very exciting competitions during the past two days. Chiara Hoelzl took the first victory on Saturday and with that she has also taken the yellow BIB from Maren Lundby. Maren, however, was best on Sunday and was able to take back the lead again in the overall.
Chiara won Saturday’s competition with jumps of 89 and 99 m. Katharina Althaus came in second, while the podium got completed by another Austrian jumper, Eva Pinkelnig. Maren Lundby finished on the 5th place that she shared with her teammate, Silje Opseth. For Silje this 5th place was a career best.
On Sunday it was Maren who celebrated a victory in Romania with jumps of 96.5 and 96 m. The second place was taken by Eva Pinkelnig this time, while Hoelzl became third.
The overall is lead now by Maren Lundby who is 6 points ahead Eva Pinkelnig. The third place is currently occupied by Chiara Hoelzl who is 25 points behind Maren. The next World Cup competitions will take place in Oberstdorf between the 1st and 2nd of February.
This weekend was also very successful for the Hungarian Virag Voros, who collected her first World Cup point reaching the 30th place in Saturday’s competition. This is also Hungary’s first WC point in the history of Hungarian ski jumping.
