Chiara Hoelzl celebrated her fifth win together with friends and family at home in Hinzenbach. Thus, she extended her lead in the World Cup.
Jumps on 86m and 91m led the young Austrian to the home victory on the HS90-hill. The strong performance combined with good grades allow her to claim the win by a margin of 9.7 points. Hoelzl stated in an interview after the competition:
“Of course I am doing very well. It’s really good to win in front of all the friends, fans and family. That is really the best thing. You dream about it and today it happened. ” (FIS Ski Jumping)
Maren Lundby was left behind on the second place, having jumped 85m and 88m. The Norwegian was followed by Hoelzl’s team-mate Eva Pinkelnig who jumped 86.5m in both rounds.
Sara Takanashi, Japan’s top athlete, missed the podium by 2.3 points as she finished the competition on the fourth place (85m & 87m). Katharina Althaus from Germany rounded up the TOP5 with jumps on 85m and 84.5m.
On account of Hoelzl’s successful competitions, she remains leader of the World Cup with 930 Points, followed by Maren Lundby (895p.).
