Before everything gets back to normal and another ski jumping season starts, Gregor Schlierenzauer has undergone eye surgery.

30 year old Gregor Schlierenzauer had been struggling with astigmatism. This is something that had bothered him also while jumping and that’s why he decided to undergo laser vision correction. “My left eye had laser treatment 18 months ago, now it’s time for the right one. I need to be patient until I get my full vision back – especially in the darkness.” – wrote Schlierenzauer on his blog.

The Austrian athlete finished the 2019/2020 season in 20th place overall. He is very optimistic about the future. “The upcoming weeks will be very emotional. At the beginning of June we should start practicing at the hill, and on the other hand, all my sponsor contracts will end soon so there will be many important meetings to attend” – said Gregor.
