There are lot of people who still hope that Liberec will be back on the list of World Cup events. Now it’s almost sure that this will not happen in the near future.

Liberec’s comeback to World Cup was determined with modernization which will not take place soon. It’s obligatory to build anti-wind nets and to change the inrun. The costs of this investment are about 30.000.000 crowns. The city and the region were supposed to give 7.500.000 crowns each. The rest – 15.000.000 – was supposed to be donated from the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport. Unfortunately, the prerequisites had not been met.

There will be no support given by the Ministry because the hill is not owned by the city or by the region but by the private company TMR Jested.

The last World Cup competition took place in Liberec in 2008, one year before the World Championships were organised there. In 2013 ski jumpers could jump there during the Junior World Championships and Continental Cup. Since then each attempt of organising FIS competitions in Liberec was problematic due to the economical situation.
