As the wind made it impossible to host a team-event on Saturday which is why one round was held before Sunday’s individual competition. Germany proved their power in team-events once more as it won ahead of Japan and Austria.
Pius Paschke had a very good start for Germany with a jump on 218m, while Constantin Schmid jumped 212m. Even though Markus Eisenbichler has a slightly ruptured medial colleteral ligament, he jumped 235.5m. Karl Geiger brought the victory home with a jump on 220.5m (819.5p.). Japan celebrated a satisfying end of the season as Naoki Nakamura (225.5m), Junshiro Kobayashi (214m), Yukiya Sato (229.5m) and Ryoyu Kobayashi (226.5m) achieved the second place (810p.). Austria also rewarded itself with a third place. Daniel Huber (233.5m), Markus Schiffner (213m), Stefan Kraft (208.5m) and Michael Hayböck (218.5m) stood on the podium together.
Slovenia unfortunately missed the podium on their home hill. Even though Bor Pavlovcic (243m), Peter Prevc (205m), Ziga Jelar (204.5m) and Domen Prevc (228.5m) wanted to give their best, it was not enough.
The individual competition follows right after the team-event at 10:30 CET.
