Sara Takanashi celebrated her first victory of the summer season in Frenstat on Sunday. The Japanese beat her team-mate Nozomi Maruyama and Silje Opseth (NOR).
After having been second in the previous competitions, Takanashi claimed the victory with jumps on 101.5m and 104.5m (251.9p.). Nozomi Maruyama came in second with a gap of 15.4 points to Takanashi. She jumped 96.5m and 103m (236.5p.). Silje Opseth, who had only competed once before the event in Frenstat, completed the podium. The Norwegian jumped 96m and 100m (226.9p.).
Nika Kriznar (SLO) missed the podium with jumps on 99m and 95.5m (222.8p.). Irina Avvakumova from Russia rounded off the TOP5 after having jumped 95.5m and 97.5m (213.4p.).
The Slovenian team nevertheless had a successful weekend behind them as Ursa Bogataj (86.5m & 93m; 203.9p.) came in sixth, Jerneja Brecl (84m & 90.5m; 183.5m) eleventh and Ema Klinec (93m & 95.5m; 173.2p.) 16th. Kaori Iwabuchi (93m & 95.5m; 202.9p.) and Yuki Ito (91.5m & 90m; 198.4p.) supported Takanashi and Maruyama in the TOP10 as they finished seventh and eighth respectively.
Austria’s best athlete was once again Lisa Eder on the 12th place (84.5m & 88m; 182.1p.). Juliane Seyfarth (87.5m & 87m; 171p.) and Katharina Althaus (88m & 79.5m; 167.8p.) represented Germany on the 18th and 19th place.
Ursa Bogataj remains the leader of the SGP with 340 points, followed by Sara Takanashi (260p.) and Nozomi Maruyama (211p.).
The next SGP for the ladies takes place in Chaikovsky from Sept 10-12.
